After losing the semblance of his personal and professional life within two days, Seo Dong-ju (Park Hyung Sik) is now seeking ways to save and get his revenge. His main opponents (out of many) are Yeo Eun-nam (Hong Hwa-yeon) and Huh Il-do (Lee Hae-young) possess more power and tactics. After the ending of episode 2, viewers are sure that Seo Dong-ju’s life is in grave danger.
As per the preview of episode 3, Seo Dong-ju will use a master trick to play even with Yeo Eun-nam. He reveals his knowledge of the $2 trillion won political slush fund and even offers Eun-nam the money in exchange for his life. Elsewhere, he also talks to his (now) former girlfriend Eun-nam, telling her that he will get her back and also get the money to protect himself.
The preview reveals that Dong-ju has sailed out to the sea to retrieve the money, and he might be attacked again by his opponents. His knowledge of the Slush Fund might create a divide between him and the Daesang chairman, Kang-cheon, who was his biggest supporter till now.
However, it will be interesting to see how Dong-ju plots his ultimate revenge. From the first two episodes, viewers have seen his honest and sincere efforts to rise at the company and his devotion to his girlfriend. But after losing a lot within a couple of days, Dong-ju might get more cautious and try his own set of tricks to defeat Yeo Eun-nam by using the Slush Fund.
Ratings of Buried Hearts Promises Bright Start
Buried Hearts started with promising ratings. The second episode of the show garnered over 8.1 ratings in South Korea, as per Nielsen rankings. If it continues on similar ratings for the next few episodes, Park Hyung Sik’s drama can become one of the most popular K-dramas of 2025.
Buried Hearts will return on February 28 and March 1 on SBS and Disney Plus.
