BTS V, the sensational Kim Taehyung, is closing out 2024 by making waves on the Billboard Hot 100. Remarkably, he stands as the first Korean artist in 2024 to have three fresh tracks chart while serving in the military. Fans speculate that BTS V’s reign in the K-pop world will continue as he readies to return from mandatory military service and step into an exciting new era of music.

Kim Taehyung Makes a Grand Return to the Billboard Hot 100 with “White Christmas”

Ever since the release of “Scenery” and “Winter Bear,” BTS V fans know that their favorite musician will have new offerings every winter. True to form, 2024 brings not one but two brand-new tracks: “Winter Ahead” featuring Park Hyoshin and a unique collaboration with the legendary Bing Crosby, guided by the Crosby Estate.

These songs have been embraced as the ultimate comfort for the winter chill, showcasing the global impact of V’s artistry as they climb the Billboard Hot 100. His latest gem, “White Christmas,” has made a splash, debuting at number 93.

A Brief Overview of BTS V’s Charting Records in 2024

BTS V recently delivered the biggest surprise by overtaking the iconic Mariah Carey on the Holiday Digital Song Sales chart during the second week of December. Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas Is You” traditionally dominates this chart each winter season. However, V and Park Hyoshin’s holiday release, “Winter Ahead,” has taken the crown this year on the second week of December, marking a significant shift in the holiday music landscape.

In March, V’s release “Fri(end)s” made an impressive debut on the Billboard Hot 100 at position 65, alongside his holiday singles. After that, “Winter Ahead” entered the charts at 99, while “White Christmas” secured the 93rd spot. But those aren’t the only records V has set—“White Christmas” also debuted at number 25 on Spotify’s Daily Top Songs chart, accumulating over 3.8 million streams. This remarkable achievement has earned “White Christmas” the distinction of having the largest streaming debut for a Christmas song in Spotify’s history.

As BTS V’s birthday approaches, fans have also been keen on streaming his past hits. The “Singularity” crooner’s 2023 track, “Love Me Again,” surpassed one billion streams on December 14, 2024. This track has become his first solo entry in Spotify’s prestigious Billions Club, achieving this remarkable feat just a year and four months post-release. Notably, “Love Me Again” amassed this massive amount of streaming within a year and four months of its release.

“No Promotion, Just Impact”

Fans of BTS V are reveling in the significant achievements of their chart-topping idol, emphasizing that his success stems entirely from his remarkable impact rather than any formal promotion. Despite the absence of official marketing efforts from his agency for many of his songs, V’s global influence has proven unstoppable, showcasing his unparalleled ability to connect with audiences worldwide.

A proud fan gushed over his new achievement, sharing on X, “Surprise back-to-back releases with no promo and Kim Taehyung entering Billboard Hot 100 every week for his new releases.”

Another added: “BTS V now joins Mariah Carey as the Only Act to replace themselves at #1 on Holiday Digital song sales charts this Decade.” A third fan posted, “As an artist, Taehyung’s career is one of a kind. With constant platform issues, he still became the K-pop soloist with the most Billboard Hot 100 entries in 2024. A true legend.”
